In daily life, pop rivets are often used to fasten many things. Blind rivets are still important components used for riveting, and riveting generally requires double-sided operation. The presentation of blind rivets makes single-sided operation a more convenient and feasible technique. Riveting is the use of a metal cylinder or metal tube (rivet) with a slightly smaller diameter than the perforated hole to pass through the workpiece that needs to be riveted, and to strike or pressurize the two ends of the rivet, causing the deformation and thickening of the metal cylinder (pipe) together to form a rivet head (cap) at both ends, preventing the workpiece from detaching from the rivet. Therefore, when subjected to external forces that cause the workpiece to detach, the nail rod or cap receives the shear force that occurs, avoiding the workpiece from detaching.
Rivet fasteners are different from traditional bolts in terms of the tightening force generated by torque rotation. Blind rivet fasteners use the principle of Hooke’s Law and, through specialized equipment for pulling rivets, compress the smooth inner collar into the screw groove to form a 100% bond between the collar and the bolt, generating permanent tightening force.
In specific use, first place one side of the rivet on the locked hole component, insert the nail core into the gun head of the riveting gun, and the gun head should be tightly pressed against the end face of the rivet. Then perform the riveting operation until the opposite side of the rivet expands and the rivet core is pulled apart, completing the riveting.
