Differences between flat head rivet nuts, countersunk head rivet nuts, and hexagonal head rivet nuts

Flat headed rivet nuts have two types of cylindrical parts: smooth and vertical, while vertical type rivet nuts are commonly used in the production process due to their anti slip effect. In the later stage of riveting, the head leaks into the thin plate, and flat headed rivet nuts are also the most commonly used and sturdy type of rivet nuts, with the national standard number of GB/17880.1.

Countersunk rivet nuts are also divided into two types: smooth and vertical. They are riveted into a thin plate with chamfers, and after installation, their head surface is parallel to the surface of the thin plate. The available materials include: iron galvanized, 304 stainless steel, 316 stainless steel rivet nuts, and the national standard number is GB/T17880.2

The material of the small countersunk rivet nut is iron galvanized, 304 stainless steel, 3316 stainless steel. The small countersunk rivet nut, hence its name, is considered to have a smaller outer diameter and thickness than the countersunk rivet nut. If the sheet metal is thin, the chamfer is small, or there is no chamfer, only the small countersunk rivet nut can be used, and its national standard number is GB/17880.3.

The material of hexagonal rivet nuts is also divided into iron galvanized, 304 stainless steel, and 316 stainless steel, and the supplied specifications are M3-M12. Hexagonal rivet nuts are also divided into flat headed hexagonal rivet nuts and small headed hexagonal rivet nuts, which are installed in the hexagonal bottom hole. Due to their hexagonal shape, they can completely prevent slipping and withstand greater torque. After testing, even if the thread is damaged, the hexagonal rivet nuts can still be firmly riveted onto the thin plate, Its installation method is exactly the same as that of ordinary circular rivet nuts, except that when punching the bottom hole, it needs to be punched into a corresponding hexagonal hole, with the national standard number of GB/T17880.5.
